Back in the day, the cops would take your license and you'd get it back
when you paid the fine.  If stopped after that, the succeeding officer
would note the staple holes (and how many) in your license and you couldn't
talk your way out of a ticket.

But that's the way I drive now.  I've gone from an offensive driver to a

I used to believe that right before I left there were 1M people in N.O.,

I still beat myself up for getting rid of that '84 Chevy 3/4 ton.  I would
have been better off putting a hydraulic jack in the bed and changing the
rear end to something like 273:1 from a 410:1 for better mileage.

Positive!  The only tricky thing about the quadrajet was gauging the float
level properly and that was also true of the 2-bbls.  If we did it wrong,
he made us strip it again and put it back together.  He was almost as
strict as my mother.
