A couple of other things I noticed... 

1. You can now only exit from the area list with Esc, not Alt-X any more.

2. The "areas" keyword no longer appears to function.

3. Where is the current time display supposed to be and how do I activate it?

I will continue using it for the time being though, and let you know when I
discover some more peculiarities and/or bugs.
