subject: Modem Speed?

G'day Pete,

If the former then how about some details on what computer/OS
PC> etc you had problems with.

 PC> I've had 286's with 8250 UARTS handling sustained 115200 baud
PC> throughput without problem, I've been told a decent XT will also
 PC> handle that speed.

This was on my friend's 486 with a 28.8K Courier and an 8250 UART. It got
data overruns every 10-20 seconds.
