I have yet to hear of a static (non-flotation) mirror support that does not stress the mirror. PLOP will help you determine support point layout and flotation part dimensions and layouts. You still need to choose a proper design approach for your hinges (compliant, etc.)...whether or not you will RTV the mirror the the cell, or use a sling, cooling arrangement, etc. See: http://overton.tamu.edu/aset/krajci for some info and ideas on mirror cells, and links to a few other folks that have done some very detailed analysis with PLOP.
