Of course the Spanish were much smarter. When they found a north/south
passage to/from Colorado between two mountain ranges, they named it El
Paso... :o) BTW, the twin cities of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, just across
the Rio Grande - is the largest 'bi-national' community in the world.

the next thing you know, they'll try to make like the forests of
California and Montana actually compare to Texas and Lousiana forests.
i.e. Eucalyptus trees are not indiginous to California. They were imported
by a Dr Scripps, who thought California could use some trees besides the
scrawny weed like mesquite bushes growing there. If you ever get to San
Diego and Balboa Park, they have giant eucalyptus trees and a few other
exotics, imported from the south sea area. They even had to import Pecan
trees from Texas so they could enjoy pecans without buying them from
Texans.
