subject: Drones

Hello Wilfred,

LL>>> How deep can I dig on my own property?

BF>> And how high above it is your property? Is the 747 flying over your
 BF>> property trespassing?

WvV> And maybe more relevant in the near future, can you destroy a drone that
WvV> flies over your property uninvited.

All jokes aside, that is actually a serious question that
is, or has been, raised by various state governments in the
US. Does the federal government have the right to use drones
to "spy" on its own citizens? Do citizens have the right to
protect themselves from such intrusions of privacy?

What about the news media? Can the news media use drones to
take pictures of celebrities sunbathing in the nude in their own
back yards? While Brittany Spears might welcome such an invasion
of privacy, others might not. Some might even be quite hostile,
blasting those drones out of the sky.

And then there are companies (such as amazon) that would love
to use drones to deliver packages to homes, thus saving on the
cost of shipping and handling.

Last but not least, there are Muslims who would love to imitate
the masterminds of 9-11 (but without having to pay the full price).
