Of course the effecency of the Multipule ~> TW>> Screen Cinemas fairly well explains that. ~> RN> Truly you have a dizzying intellect. ~> Not stating the obvious eh. 10 cents inflated 2000 times is $200, not ~> $20... :o) One 2009 dollar has the same general purchasing power that 6.5 cents had in 1940, according to the consumer price index tables. That would make a 1940 dime equal to roughly $1.50 today. There are some places where you can watch non-new releases for $1.50. or you can rent a DVD for about that much. But the real test of whether it is a bargain is what you GET for that price. In 1940 a movie ticket would get you into a movie that was probably made in 1939 -- considered the best year for movies. Most people could pick a dozen or more 1939 movies that compare well to ANYTHING that has been made in the last year: http://www.films101.com/y1939r.htm --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:124/311) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 124/311 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
