    I'm pretty new to Word myself Rich, and it will be a while before I learn 
it. But it looks like the Address Book icon is "insert _from_" not insert to. 
  If I remember it right, if you type in a address in the "Deliver To" box 
and then save it, its saved in the address book and you can just click on it 
to insert it the next time.  I assume you didn't save any of the addresses 
you've used and since you don't use the Contacts or MMail, its probably 
beeping because it can't find any address to let you select from.
    If you click the address book icon, mine gives me a list of names to 
select from. If I click the list's Cancel button I get a box that has a New 
(add) button at the bottom.  Maybe try just adding all your names to the 
address book that way?
