about HELLO :
[SB] Hey, I see you make your pasta with olive oil in the water instad of
[SB] salt too. All the boxes say to use salt. But I learned from Mario's
[SB] grandmother to use olive oil. It really works very well.
[SB]
[SB] I will try this.
You betcha! I been using olive oil for a long time it really works the
best and a true italian cook always uses olive oil. Great! I hope that
you and the family will enjoy!
[SB] I can tell you what I put in my cornbread, but I don't have any exact
[SB] measurements. I learned to make cornbread and biscuits and frybread and
[SB] things like that from my grandmother by following her around the
[SB] kitchen. She never measured any thing, so I learned to do it without
[SB] measuring. That makes me a lousy person to give bread recipes over to
[SB] others.
I hear you on the following around the kitchen deal:) I did the same when
it came to learning how to cook I just watched and learned. Messuring is
not my way I just put in a little of this and a little of that with most
of my cooking if it taste's right then it will work:) When I gave you
the recipie for the lasanga I gave you the best to my knowledge measurements
I figured you would most likely adapt it to your needs !
[SB] I use no flour in my cornbread. I mix togther a couple of cups of
[SB] cornmeal, a bit of sugar, and maybe two teaspoons of baking powder.
[SB] Then I add some oil (usually olive oil these days), some milk or water
[SB] (depending on what I have in the house; but usually milk), and 2-4 eggs,
[SB] depending on my mood. I then bake it at about 350 f for about a half
[SB] hour.
Well we do have a lot in common :) I make my Cornbread the same way you
do! Wow! That is great! I hear you on the mood thing...I am one of these
people who uses mood a lot in my cooking:)
[SB] Sometimes I add other things to my cornbread. I like adding hot peppers
[SB] and canned corn to it. It makes a good bread for dinner. I also used
[SB] to like adding grated cheese to it, but, with my low fat diet, hard
[SB] cheese is pretty much a no-no. Three and a half slices of most hard
[SB] cheeses gives me my day's supply of fat grams. I'm still learning to
[SB] use low fat and no fat cheeses in cooking. Sometimes I add more sugar
[SB] to it, and make a sort of corn cake. My family particularly likes that
[SB] for breakfast.

Hot Peppers Huh...well you just hit a spot:) My family can not understand me
because I LOVE hot peppers if I can put it into it it goes in:) I am one
of these people who can take a hot pepper and eat them till the sun comes up
I drive my husband crayzy when I sit there and down them like water. They
keep trying to find something that is TOO hot for me but; so far NOT!
ahahaha
when it comes to HOT anything I am the one that consumes it so, I love your
idea of peppers in the cornbread I will have to try that for sure:)
Thanks for the good cooking talk it is nice to share some good cooking with
a good friend:) well take care and I will ttyl8tr!
