I'd prefer Z-modem, but I have a problem with the computer locking up when I do a Z-modem download in a DOS window. It's a computer hardware problem. BBSNETS doesn't have 1k Kermit or I'd use that, rather then Ymodem-G. Ymodem-G works just fine for Fido message packets though. When browsing the internet, I use the library's 1k Kermit for downloading, which is _almost_ as fast as Z-modem. Only as a last resort do I exit to DOS so I can use Z-modem in the terminal program. Since I can't swap around to other programs, I have to make sure I have all the file names and internet addresses written down or printed out before I do that.
