The leo.org mirror site is still up.
There's supposed to be some litigation going into effect after the first of
the year. That could cause a lot of music on the internet to be removed, or
the holder of the particular sites to be fined. I've got an old (sometime
around the first of January 1997) html off a music site that gave the
how's/what for's concerning the litigation and what all it would do to just
the internet sites, especially those with real audio, .mid and other audible
music. I'll see if I can find it on my other system (if it's not been
deleted) or possibly find it again on the net (I think I bookmarked the URL
several versions of Netscape ago!).
If what the author of the html was stating comes to pass, the UN will be
designating how the litigation will be carried out - how infractions will be
taken care of. That's why on all my sites, except one, I've already gotten
permission to use the material. I was requested to add 'online music' to the
Darrell McCall Fan Club site, which I maintain. Since the requester was
Darrell, who gave me the cd to use to make audio files, his act of giving me
the cd was all that was necessary.
If all that litigation comes down, TABLATURE could be in jeopardy *AGAIN*!
