Check your
CR>documentation that came with your computer and select the Specific Modem

Thanks for your reply; Maybe Santa will remember me and do something
about that new modem. I got into the OPTIONS/DEVISES area and tried
everything that looked remotely like it might work, even a couple of the
Packard Bell ones. The P B manual was no help in this case. Then going
on over to the Trouble shooting guide area in the Qmodem manual, I tried
setting baud rate to 19200 and at least the modem initializes, and goes
into wait. I have been busy, so have not done much with it since.
