Were asked by who? And '64 was already a racially charged environment. And
for that matter, until after the Civil Rights movement of the late 50's and
60's, African-American's voted, those who were allowed by Jim Crow to vote,
Republican - their thanks to Abraham Lincoln.
1964 was a long time ago, before I was born even. Did any of the other
states do this, and if so, why aren't they still flying theirs.
