No sorry.. back then.. the life boats were merely something to make the boat 
look pretty. They had enought life boats on teh titanic for less than half 
the total crew and passengers they had on board. They didnt feel that it was 
needed because it was supposedly unsinkable. Despite the fact that their "Air 
Tight" compartments all happened to be connected through the top. Allowing 
one to spill over into the other...
