Hi Bob! Unfortuently I do not live in the Miami area therefore am no
help to you on your quest. But, I am an adoptee and was born in
Huntsville, AL. in Madison County(heard of it?). If there ever comes a
time that you are bored and feel like searching, I would greatly
appreciate getting ahold of the birth annoucments for June 1967 that are
printed in the newspaper. I am of course assuming that it's printed
even if you are being put up for adoption. Maybe they would just have
"baby girl born..." and not have my birth moms name, but it is at least
a shot in the dark. Of course I would be willing to pay for the cost of
copies and mailing fees(If you could let me know first for I am in the
same boat as you :> ) Do you think it is possible that there would
also be an adoption notice in the paper? I have heard that when a baby
is being put up for adoption they have to post it in a paper(they
usually do it in some small obscure paper) so that if the father is
unaware of the child they have been "notified" of an adoption being
taken place, and they do name the mother. I don't know if it would be
in June 1967 or in Aug. 1967 when my parents got me, or in July-Sept
1968 around the time the adoption was final. This of course is probably
a BIGGER shot in the dark than the birth annoucments.
Anyway, I hope that your request is answered soon, and that you are able
to get some I'm sure long awaited answers.
Joan
