Are you trying to do this with Delphi 1.X, Delphi 1.X that comes with Delphi 
2.0, or Delphi 2.0?  I found that RealizePalette in the later version of 
Delphi 1.X does NOT work properly, but the original Delphi 1.0 and Borland's 
FIRST update release of Delphi 1.0 DID have a working RealizePalette.  What 
you might want to do is track it down and copy the OLD VCL code to replace 
the new stuff.  I can't comment on Delphi 2.X, but I'm about to test that 
today.
