As Alan pointed out to Jean in another reply, setting up ThunderBird is more or less the same as it is in Windows. As a matter of fact, like Alan I use three versions of it: Windows, Linux, OS X. However, on the Mac I chose to use MacMail for our email needs rather than ThunderBird. Just seemed like it worked better.
