I don't disagree that an internal 33.6k dynalink is capable of 33.6k connects after all they are a rebadged USR Sportster. What I am saying is that _my_ modem is a lemon and it isn't working as it should. I know all about the pause bug that &K0 is supposed to fix but I can tell you that even with &K0 my modem still pauses, not as much as without but it still pauses enough to be a bloody nuisance. My dynalink won't connect to certain BBS' at higher than 19200 and that has to be set using the barbaric &Nx otherwise it just drops carrier. Soon I hope to test another modem in my computer on my phone lines and that should give me a more accurate guide of the quality of my dynalink.
