I don't remember spending much if any time in a BW manual, either.  But
I do regularly check out the help menus when needed, and look for the
commands to do what I need to do.  BW is really very user-friendly, when
it comes to the built-in help.  Most of it is either intuitive or easily
remembered, and just about everything else is easily found.  :)

Most of what I learned about the BW, was in reading through all the
stuff for setting it up, getting directories set correctly, and all
that...  :)
