                       ANNOUNCEMENT!
                       -------------

Today I am releasing 4 (YES FOUR!) different FREE products, the
first 3 of which are directly fidonet related, and 3 of them
are completely public domain (BTPE is freeware).

1. Tobruk 0.31 (mailprocessor for DOS, OS/2, Unix, AmigaDOS, etc),
178065 bytes in size. Executables for DOS and OS/2 only.
Magic name "TOBRUK". *current* filename, TBK031.ZIP

2. MSGED/SQ 3.20 (message editor for DOS, OS/2), 484679 bytes.
Magic name "MSGED". *current* filename, MSQ320.ZIP.

3. BinkleyTerm PE 3.04 (front-end mailer for DOS, OS/2), 702644 bytes.
Magic name "BTPE". *current* filename, BTPE304.ZIP.

4. OZPD9508 (code snippets for DOS, OS/2, Unix, AmigaDOS, etc), 73717
bytes. Magic name "OZPD". *current* filename, OZPD9508.ZIP.

So that I don't have to keep describing all these things when I
release new versions, I've created a "blurb" file, which I will
include below. And while you're FREQing the above (FREQ from
3:711/934), you might want to check out some older public domain
stuff that I have available. There are many, many, many
man-days that have gone into producing all this stuff, and you
can get it all for nix.

This stuff is not available on the internet yet, but Dave Blears,
fidonet 3:640/452 has kindly offered to make anything I hatch
into the PDOMAIN TIC echo (which means numbers 1, 2 and 4)
available on his FTP site. However, I am still waiting to find
out what his FTP address is, and then to see how long it takes
for a file to travel to him via the PDOMAIN TIC echo, so I think
it is wise to simply wait until it gets there and then advertise
its availability there.

Also, see at the end of this message for a list of sites you
may want to try (because they have FREQed stuff from me before.
However, there is NO guarantee that they will do so this time,
and NO guarantee that they will make it available for FREQ. I
have no "official" arrangement with anyone except Dave Blears.

Having said that though, there are people such as Bob Juge,
1:106/2000 who FREQ a lot of my stuff, and may even may make it
available on juge.com, and may even put it in c/file/softdist,
but I didn't receive a reply to my netmail to him as to whether
I could use him as a reference, so just keep that between you
and me, OK?

And now that I think about it, Bill Bond, 1:325/118, will probably
FREQ it, make it available on his system, then modify it, and a
couple of weeks later, make his version available. So in the
meantime you may be able to get my version from him by using the
full filename, MSQ320.ZIP. You never really can tell what might
or might not happen, can you?

BTW, I only have a 14.4k modem at 3:711/934, which is unfortunate.
It's also a crappy Spirit II, which is also unfortunate, but it
mostly works anyway. I would buy a faster modem (not from a
crappy company like Digicom though), but I'm completely broke,
which is why I can't afford to leave the house, and the only thing
I can afford to do is write public domain programs. Anyone want
to buy some straps that have only ever been used to hold up one
small barrel? Stuff that for a joke. FREQ GETRICH.TXT and
ORINVEST.TXT while you're at it, and you too can be incredibly
wealthy, and you too can see how Operations Research can make
you richer than Bill Gates in just 10 days (note that this is
based on the assumption that you win about 10000 million-dollar
lotteries in the 10 days whilst reading ORINVEST.TXT).

Notes:

1. I'm using Tobruk at 3:711/934 and 3:711/934.9.
2. In MSGED/SQ, I have made the area is front-focus now, and the
first screen, so your autostart macro will probably need to change.
Start by getting rid of it and then add it back a bit at a time.
3. An "afterconnect" statement has been added to BinkleyTerm PE so
that after a connect, you can do something such as escape to
command and get your modem to report line quality.
4. Some MD5 code which I have mentioned before, is now in OZPD.
