That's an interesting question, but the answer is probably lost in the
mists of legend and could only be answered by the likes of David "the
original mooserator" Slonosky or BillMoose Cassidy... (They were
probably the earliest participants, way back when MooseChat was an
independently distributed echo originating in Net249.)
I _do_ know that most of the original MooseChat participants were
Monty Python fans. However, balanced against what may be a
coincidence, we have to remember that the noble moose is an intrinsic
part of Canadian Culture. Why, meese are as important to Canadian
Culture as the letter "U" or doughnuts or cheddar cheese!
