I've taught mirror making classes off and on over a couple of decades plus.
What you describe sounds like an immently usable mirror.  You do have to
redesign your mirror cell, something that you gotta do regardless if you
retouch your mirror.  So I'd say redesign your cell, get that to your
satisfaction, then see if you aren't happy with your mirror.
