much different molecules.  Ever heard of Bucky-balls?  They are a family
of carbon molecules which can hold other atoms or smaller molecules
within themselves, and can be used for everything from lubrication to
dating and anyalizing ancient atmosphere, and may even be used to carry
medicines inside the body!  Who knows what other combinations of known or
unknown elements could be formed in the fury of a Super Nova?

Not necessarily.  There have been "dropouts" from the security
establishment that have loudly proclaimed what they know, (or claim to
know), and every time they open their mouths, they make a statement to
the effect that, "Everything I know about the subject is in a safe place,
and if anything happens to me, everything will be made public."  I'm not
too sure if Mr. Lazar wasn't one of these "turncoats" that made similar
statements when he hit the public eye.

Very true.  Politicians rule, and politicians are a very egotisticall
sort, who refuse to be anywhere but on top and in control, not only in
their "local" society, but they wish to extend their power, (and egos),
as far as possible.  If possible, they will use anything in their power
to extend their power, including food and medicines, to bring whatever
"target" to their knees until that power is extended.  The big problem
is that their opponants in their "chess game" are just as strong-willed
as the others, so nothing gets done and people die of starvation and
disease.
