What Chen is doing can and has been done with a number of completely
free software packages available on the internet. What Chen isn't
disclosing is the amount of storage space he's dedicating for the raw
data to be aggragated later. :) I'm sure for what he's doing, it's
huge!
FYI BD, I've done the very same processes as he has described on a
smaller scale with one target on the scope; You. By your own admission
previously, since you are the author of all of the relevent tidbits,
it's free game and public information. Even tho it discloses your home,
and that of your childrens and various other personal things.
you should be grateful that I realize and respect that the information
shouldn't be considered public at this point with all the dots
connected and released willy nilly on the internet. Although, you most
certainly made an effort to do exactly that to me. Be glad I'm not like
you, BD.

Read my reply slowly. You have every right to be concerned. usenet
isn't a game. And the government aren't the only ones who do those
activities when necessary.

Hackers are generally only very weakly motivated by conventional
rewards such as social approval or money. They tend to be attracted by
challenges and excited by interesting toys, and to judge the interest
of work or other activities in terms of the challenges offered and the
toys they get to play with.
