Frankly, I've never liked them enough to worry about it. It's amazing how
many acquaintances (not friends -- I'm discriminate between the two terms)
see a man in his forties move out and automatically assume a midlife crises
and another woman. Appallingly these acquaintances seem to think that kind
of behavior is both normal and forgivable.
