On 01-23-98, MIKE ANGWIN declared to ROBERT PLETT:
MA> The pattern of behaviour, even the words used by Clinton, may
MA>very well close the trap on him this time. Paula Jones claimed he
MA>proposed a specific act, without knowing that Jennifer Flowers had
MA>testified he had the same preferences in their relationship. Now,
MA>Luewinski has made the same claim without knowing about either of the
MA>others. There is also a connection between Flowers claiming he said
MA>that he did not consider such an act adultry, and, low and behold,
MA>Leuwinski, without knowing about Flowers comment, attributed almost
MA>exactly the same words to Clinton.
Exactly right.
MA> His denials, like the previous denials of an affair with
MA>Flowers, are now falling on deaf ears even among his ardent supporters
MA>in the press since he has now testified, under oath, that he did have
MA>an affair with Flowers after all.
One of the things that's fun to see going on is the way the media types
now very publicly parse every word he says, pointing out how his
statements can mean other than what they sound like, something we here
have long known about the Slickster. Drawing from the Jennifer Flowers
denial and now the admission of that affair, one pundit this morning
extended that sort of thing across everything this administration has
done from the beginning saying that what they do is say, hey, we didn't
rob no bank, that charge is absolutely false (it was a savings and
loan).
MA> Flowers also was instructed by Clinton to "deny, deny, deny",
MA>the same words he rep[ortedly used with Leuwinski..."deny, deny, deny".
MA>At present, we can only conclude Luewinski is told the truth or she is
MA>deeply involved in an unbelievably complex conspiracy to bring down
MA>Clinton. With other evidence popping up every day, that is becomming
MA>less and less likely with each passing moment.
The conspiracy was Dufus' doing when he pressured her to deny. |-)
MA> Clinton may have got over on Whitewatergate, on Filegate, and
MA>on all the other schemes he's been implicated in, but it is startingt o
MA>to look like "Zippergate" is going to be his downfall.
Those past escapes helped make him careless. Lewinski told Tripp Dufus
cheated on her with 4 other interns. Wonder when we'll be hearing from
them.
Many seem to be disturbed that it's sexual escapades rather than some of
the other things he's done that have brought his presidency to its
current state of tottering on the brink of downfall. I'm of a different
mind. Infidelity isn't the simple mischeviousness so many would like to
paint it. He who violates his vows to his wife will also violate the
vows of public office and public trust, and some are finally beginning
to see that - these matters of sexual impropriety are lending credence
in the eyes of former skeptics to all the other charges they've been
chalking up to partisanship. Perhaps in the future such things won't be
shrugged off so easily as they have been, but rather be seen as the
indicator of serious character flaws they are that impact on everything
a person does.
MA> One station reported Gore is already considering potential
MA>Vice-Presidents.
I've heard that reported a number of times now from several different
places. |-)
