Hi Everyone...

Well my node number will be taken off sometime this week so thought I'd
get in a last word before it happens.

First, many thanks to Larry Eggers for taking over the Spitfire Echo
and Filebone.  I would have hated to see it die while there still are
Spitfire Sysops around.

I hated to shut the BBS down but there were too many problems that I
could not leave it unattended while out of town nor do I have any one
to babysit it while gone.   Most of the problems centered around Amail
choking on Internet Emails, or SDFTP messing up and wouldn't reboot the
BBS, or it would be in the middle of a Mail Run to Ross and time out
in the middle of downloads, and of course not reboot itself when it 
did.

My last 5 Faithful callers have made other arrangements to get their
Echos so that's settled.

I'll be leaving here about the 11th to go to Kentucky to have my eyes
operated on and will be back around the 8th or 9th of December.

Perhaps when I get back I can get on one of the other boards (Ross's or
Doc's Place, etc) and stop in and say Hi now and then.

It's been a real pleasure of being a Spitfire Sysop since May 1991.  I've
been very grateful to Mike Woltz for his support.  It's also been great
to have the fellowship of all you Spitfire Sysops over the years.

But, alas, all good things must come to an end sometime.

Good Luck on getting Amail reworked.  I hope it will be successful.
