 shift great.  What you get in the higher end stuff is better materials

 Cruiser bikes, commuter bikes, restoration projects and kids low rider  
 bikes.  I live near an apartment complex that has 80% of those living  
 there are 65 and older.  All summer long during the morning and early  
 evening there are lots of the classic cruisers being pedaled around.
 Not everyone wants 14 to 27 (yes 27) speeds on a bicycle.
