subject: Cables & Stuff ???

Hello Jerry.
JO> to use the small wire like on some home chepie systems. If I have the

I'm new here. Please excuse my stupid question, but we (in former USSR)
are measuring thickness of acoustic cables in square milimiters.
Can You explain relation between square milimiters and gauges?
What does it mean wire of 16 gauge, for example?
And BTW, what is maximal permittable resistance of cables from amplifier
to loudspeaker? Is it related to amplifier power/loudspeakers resistance?
Gregory
