As to where it goes, it seems all insane to me.
We had a discussion here locally and somebody pointed me to the Motorola Moto
E6 smartphone
for about 80$ in the shops here...
That 8GB 75$ raspi has
no touch screen
no camera
no speaker
no GPS
no FM radio
no battery
....
No LTE
But the Motorola has:

The Motorola has no GPIO, but it has USB, for sure you can do things via that,
it also has a decent housing.
Maybe root it and install Linux..
No sane written application I can think of uses 8GB RAM.
It is all hype, and that Raspberry OS is just Debian with all its problems
and short comings and some of its own added to that.
Seems to me now the Raspberry foundation is just turning into a money making
hype.
Kids try programing some Microchip PIC chips if you want to learn how to
control things,
those are 2 1/2 $ upwards.
Learn some basic electronics.
How many fucking variables has the biggest program you ever wrote ???
Any idea how much 8 GB is?
8,000,000,000
bye
