  I tried one time to open it, but couldn't find a way.  
  The bottom part opened, the spring was showing and the tip of the ball
point.  Couldn't get that out and didn't want to work too hard on it in
fear of breaking it.   
   I'll check again, as soon as I find it.  
   Put it in a desk drawer and now its disappeared.  :)
