I have never tried Ansichat so I don't know. But there is a mex program
called mmchat_e.zip that is a real jewel, especially under OS/2. I wish
it worked with Telegard.. ;)

I'm not sure about download counters. I never did use them when I ran
Max, but one thing you could look at is The Automated Maintanance
Utility (AMU). I think it's $15 to register. I registered it a few years
ago and find it to be a very helpfull util that works with numorous BBS
packages. It will do allfiles/newfiles/specific file listings as well as
file scanning and bulletins (and a number of other things). And it will
do download counters also.
