It almost sounds more like you have a memory problem then anything else. I would find a copy of memtest86, drop it to a CD and run some tests. The other option could be to try and just reinstall from scratch on an extra drive. If you go through without a problem, then there may be something else botched in the OS that is preventing it from going. As well, when you press F8 when the OS is loading, there SHOULD be an option to not reboot the machine on a BSOD. I don't recall what the exact wording is however. I do remember it was one of the last options. ...
