subject: MEX -- What is it?

Hi Alan,

DW> It has been awhile since I ran Maximus..... I have been
DW> reading references to MEX out hear and a couple other
DW> places. What is it? Is it like PEX for ProBoard BBS?

AI> What's Pex.. ? :) I suspect it is the same, or similar.
AI> Mex is a programming language that you can use to
AI> execute programs written in Mex from Maximus. If your
AI> running Maximus 3.01 there are a number of Mex programs
AI> in your \Max\M directory, some of them are used by max
AI> on every call, like the message menu header. The
AI> Mexchat program that comes with Max is a good example
AI> of what can be done with Mex, and also Padlock. A CBV
 AI> written in Mex.

AI> Mex.exe also comes with max, so you can compile your own mex's.. :)

Do you know if Ansichat will work with 3.01? The main reason I hate to
upgrade is the way authors change the programs too much instead of just
adding features. I hate to have to find new utilities, etc. when the ones
I have work just fine for the most part. I have a file listed, called
Al.zip but it seems to have a problem listing all the areas I have (only
29). I tried Allfix and had a version that worked, but the one I have now,
4.41 seems to have a problem and can't find my file list area.

What about DLC, download counter program, will it still work?

    TTYL
