t I have concluded that it, like Skype, forms a background peer-to-peer net=
work that will cause disk thrashing even when your programs don't use the d=
isk (during idle times). If that annoys you, you can turn it off at startu=
p.
Akamai NetSession is a bandwidth hog, like Skype is...but you can turn it o=
ff... turning off " Akamai NetSession", which you can do from "Startup" tab=
