Hello John! IMHO it's a design flaw (or at least it was overlooked) if this is even a possibility. Lately the Supra beta ROMs have only been available in binary format for uploading by Xmodem, and the modem seems pretty fussy about what Xmodem you use; neither FrontDoor nor Telix work, only DSZ (among those I've tried), and I'm not the only person to experience. After giving the Xmodem upload command, AT**, I've had to power cycle the modem and try again. Also, some particular Supras are prone to losing their ROMs on occasion. If this happens the modem will just sit there sending a message to the terminal telling you how to fix it. Running the flasher fixes it up. Hence, no risk of complete ROM loss with this modem.
