That's exactly why Microsoft likes Windows Genuine Disadvantage so much
-- it's a revenue generator at a time when new, profitable products are
hard for Microsoft to innovate^H^H^H^H^H^H^H copy.

What better way to boost MS Windows' revenue numbers than to make a certain
percentage of the MS Windows users re-purchase their copy of MS Windows?

I wouldn't be surprise if there weren't real-time feedback between the
cumulative revenue and earnings numbers for the quarter, and the Windows
Genuine Disadvantage deactivator system.

Doesn't look like Microsoft will be hitting the forecast numbers
this quarter? Well, just deactivate some copies of MS Windows,
and force those customers to buy new copies.

Simple, efficient, and easily pushed upon the kool-aid drinking MS Windows
XP customers.
