Yes, they were -- far TOO nice IMO.
They should have come out and told the truth -- many of the people who make 
these claims regarding Roswell are flat-out LYING.  These are not mistakes 
made by people who misremembered dummies.  These are liars trying to make a 
buck off the Roswell tourist industry or book deals.  The government should 
have had the balls to say it.  Instead they just mucked the whole thing up 
with this dummy stuff.
