That was the biggest reason! :)
She didn't look like someone to tangle with. :)

If I have a cheque with only a day or two on it (from filling in for someone)
I'll pick up that cheque at some future date.
I was asked one time why I took so long to pick it up and I said the same
thing, I didn't really need it, then add "But then I don't want to throw
Wendell's (the owner) bookkeeping off.
One time a year or so ago I stopped to pick up a cheque about a week after
they came out.
At the bank it wasn't accepted. (I generally use the lobby ATM to deposit
the cheque but this time I wanted some cash back).
I couldn't understand why and spoke with someone who said the account had
been hacked with the account number being changed. It went on for a couple of
days to get that one little cheque deposited. The boss refused to write
another one and the bank wouldn't accept the old one.
It was eventually settled where they did and everything worked out.
I joked at the bank Wendell was too tight to "waste" another cheque. The guy
knew Wendell and readily agreed. :)
