I agree with much of what you said in your message, but think a thing or
two deserves comment.
I do not believe for an instant that failing to call Ken Jernigan
"Doctor" denies either his vision or his very considerable
contributions.  I have always thought that it was a mistake for him to
be singled out as "Doctor" (and later Marc as "Mister" when everybody
else--or nearly everybody else--is on a first-name basis.  We claim to
be brothers and sisters in the movement, and indeed we are.  Brothers
and sisters don't give any among them titles that imply superior status.
 There are better ways to show real respect for solid accomplishments, I
think.
