I mainly use the notebook here in the computer shack connected to an AC
wall outlet, the USB hubs Wall Wart is connected to another wall outlet.

I know I can't use the hubs Wall Wart when I'm running the notebook off
of battery power, although I can use the hub if I needed to connect more
USB thumbdrives than the notebook has sockets for.

I wouldn't know if they would work properly under reduced power, 500MA
is all a jack can supply to the hub, I thinkTM.
