| subject: | linux hdd on another pc? |
Hi! August, In a message to All you wrote: AA> Can a linux (ubuntu) hdd that is pw-protected (login pw only) be read AA> as an external hdd on another pc (either windows or linux)? Or... Any user with equal to [insert user name]'s access rights or better can access the contents of the HDD. The whole notion of your question has turned my grey matter into threads of spaghetti-like mash and produced a headache of magnanimous proportions... Look, would it help if I volunteered the story of my having once booted a State Police PC with my Puppy linux USB stick, giving the ability to read -every- file on the HDD (admittedly only a WinXP-Pro)? THe same would be true of any linux PC and a rescue CD, and any variation in between, etc, etc... ad infinitum. However, can Windows-anything read a linux partition? Oh, the pain...
