you'd need a good month (as compared to a bad month) to see the Smithsonians
with any degree of thoroughness. The idea that what's on display is only a
tenth of 1% of what they have just staggers me, and ohhhh makes my fingers
itch to see what they've got tucked away!
Skip the Hope diamond tho... that was distinctly disappointing.
The Air & Space Museum could have used a touch up as well, but I was still
enthralled. Would have been more so had not most the rest of the world
decided to be there the same day I was...
Oh -- not sure what they have on display there at the moment, but The
National Archives was *wonderful*
though the herding through to see the Constitution was a pity... you weren't
allowed to stop or linger, and it's so well protected (a good thing, mind)
that you really couldn't see anything.

Well, I'm sure you have your list, and will find more once you're there :)
Pardon my enthusiasm!

It springs eternal after all!

That's so monumentally short-sighted it's hard to believe. And yet they
wonder what's wrong with the educational system...
"Hmm... couldn't be a shortage of reasonably paid teachers could it?"
"No, no, that's not it... we've got too many of those as it is." said the
administrator
"I think it must be the lack of a football program."
"And locker searches. Don't forget those. We need more drug sniffing
dobermans"
"And metal detectors. Don't foget to add those to the budget."
"Who's got the calculator?"
"Oh just do it in your head, Janet"
"How?"

I weep for the future.
(as did Plato, but well... )
