abandonware. That was the last version where g++ wasn't a requirement.

I think you still can get away with gcc-5 but I doubt for very long. Maybe
another year or two. Which gcc version are you currently using?

I notice that glibc-2.26 breaks a few things. Nothing that I am using at the
moment.
