subject: internet speed

I seem to be having a problem getting my seep wher I think it sound be
when I'm on internet. I started internet with a 9600 buad modem, 386-33
DX, 8 meg ram running netscape 2.0. I upgraded tothe supraexpress 288
PNP and din't notice a real increase in speed, especially in loading the
screens as I find something to search for. I just upgraded the
motherboard to a 486-33DX and no noticable increase in speed. There
isn't an init string in the modem software for this modem, but I can
change my modem.ini to reflect anything I want. Any good ideas? I have
the internet dialer set to 57,000 and it SHOWS a 28800 connect but I
have my doubts. Thanks for any help you can give.
Ron
