I love the technical stuff that goes on behind the scenes. I really like the
Advanced Mobile Phone System, it works and works well.
What impresses me about Cellular One Boston is their ability to deliver
crystal clear calls and almost no dropped calls. A couple of days ago I was
on a 3 way call from 7:pm till 9:30 pm, moving the whole time, no trouble,
only one spot with a trace of noise. This multimillion dollar system does a
great job of completing and keeping calls. Even transitions between one
cellular carrier and another are fairly smooth, I've made some long calls
that involved a switch from Cellular One Boston to Vanguard, then back to C1,
over the course of that rather long call there were no problems and very
little noise.
That's one of the other reasons that I dislike shirt pocket phones is because
when people use them in the car they tend to sound poor due to the fact that
unless they're right under the cell site the signal isn't going to fully
quiet the cell sites receiver. OTOH, on the 3 watt and the outdoor antenna
it's rare to get noise or if you do, it only lasts a few seconds.
