Running twisted pair for speaker wire cancels out induced current, running
shielded twisted pair for input level sources, cancels out induced current
and providing the shields are attached and grounded properly, drains most
other interference... ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
single point grounding
I can't see how dual or quad shield rg-59 can improve performance on an audio
circuit. I beleive I mentioned in a previous message about incorrect cabling
between a Low-z send and a Hi-z input on the peavey amp ... the Mackie sends
can be wired Low-z using a "Stereo" 1/4" plug (tip, ring, sleeve) as can the
peavey amp ... look there first ... you probably have a balanced send out of
the board on to the snake and you've plugged in a two wire cable from the
snake to the amp .... or possibly your eq or something ... you should run the
whole mess balanced to avoid hte nasty hum associated with long Hi-z sends ..
get it yet?
