That's "Flow control", which means that somewhere along the line
either the computer or the modem got confused about whether somebody was
ready for more data. You don't have software flow control enabled in your
modem, do you? I use just hardware flow control here, and things work
well. Especially if you've got your port locked to a higher speed than
what goes out the wire on the phone line...

I doubt that there's going to be any further updates to 2.02, and think
that there is supposed to be a fix out for Squish.
Why not upgrade? I didn't find it that bad, though it took a little bit
of fiddling. One of the nice things about newer hard drives with all of
the space they have available is that it's quite feasible to make a copy of
your whole working setup, so that if you run into a problem you can just
restore things back to the way they were, while you figure out how to deal
with it.
