subject: ANSWER MODE

SL> Hi Patrick, i got a question for you. i frequently use of the +ms
SL>command for calling some systems with strange modems. it works fine
SL>but i can get it working in answer mode. i mean define and force
SL>(limit) some connect modes. ex: i use +ms=rvfc,1,1200,19200
SL>if i make a call with this set, i get vfc and 19200 as the limit.
SL>if i get a call with this set, the user connect v34 and 19200 ?!?!?
SL>maybe i misunderstood something in the owner's manual or is because i
SL>currently use a beta rom?
Okay let me see if I can clear this up:
        +MS=protocol,automode,min rate, max. rate

The protocol is the preferred (or the protocol it wants to
        try first)
The automode is wether or not protocols other than the
        preferred are acceptable.

min. is the lowest carrier rate in any protocol.
max. is the highest carrier rate in any protocol.
So if you want VFC only carriers try +MS=rvfc,0,14400,19200.
If you just don't want V.34 carriers and you want ANY other
protocol so long as it uses a 19200 to 1200 carrier rate,
        then use this:
        S110=6+MS=rvfc,1,1200,19200
Bit 3 in S110=0 toggles V.8/V.34 support and setting that
bit to 0 disables this support.
