Hi everyone... I was just wondering how much you pay for gasoline in your
country,
     and if you think it's a fair price.

     We're facing a very intereting situation in Brazil these days... 2006 is
the year Brazil finally reaches
     self-sufficiency in oil production but we brazilians are not taking any
advantages from that.

     The gas price gets more and more expensive nearly every month and the
flex-fuel technology became a
     reality (more than 75% of new cars built are flexible) but the technology
proved to be a joke.

     With the ethanol consumption increasing, the prices also increased and in
some cities the price has
     reached the gas price, believe it or not.

     In some cities ethanol is no longer the cheapest fuel option because of
its high price.

     We're paying 2,35 to 2,95 for 1 liter of gas in Rio (Brazilian R$), taking
a 50 liter gas tank for comparison,
     the minimum amount spent would be 2,35 x 50 = R$ 117,50 / U$ 1 = R$ 2,11 /
We have U$ 55,54 per tank.

     I think it's way too expensive for a country that extracts 100% of the all
the oil consumed.
